Director of Community & Economic Development

Performs and responsible for a variety of complex project based and daily operational work including but not limited to: coordination of programs, projects and daily operations for the City Manager; economic development and planning via grant management and other resources, including the Business Navigator Department and Main Street Hartsville.

Req: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in public administration, business management or a closely related field is required (Master’s degree preferred); and two (2) years of experience in municipal management with authority for program direction, to include a proven track record of applying for and administering Federal & State grant programs of significant scope, as well as a successful compliance record with all relevant regulations [including but not limited to: The Davis Bacon Act, State Procurement, Fair Housing Act, Uniform Relocation Act, National Environmental Policy Act]; or any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid SC driver’s license.

School Crossing Guard

Responsible for the safety of students crossing the street en route to and from school and traffic control at school crossings – 2 hours per day, 5 days a week, when school is in session.

Req: HS graduate or equivalent and the ability to learn and apply skills in traffic direction.

Neptune Island Job Titles and Descriptions Summary

Lifeguard

  • Age 16 or older and willing to meet all of Neptune Island’s Grooming Standards daily
  • Must be professional, energetic and have a positive attitude at all times
  • Able to work a combination of days/evenings, holidays and weekends as needed
  • Ability to:
    • Swim 200 yards without stopping
    • Tread water for 2 minutes without using hands
    • Retrieve a [ten] 10 lb. brick from the bottom of a [six] 6 ft. pool
  • Successfully complete a lifeguard certification course (all offered by Neptune Island)
    – Your Lifeguard License: You will be trained through the Jeff Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training Program, an internationally recognized industry leader in lifeguard training.

 

Food Services

  • Age 16 or older and willing to meet all of Neptune Island’s Grooming Standards daily
  • Must be professional, energetic and have a positive attitude at all times
  • Successfully complete an online food safety/sanitation course
  • Able to work 3-5 shifts per week, minimum 2 weekend shifts
  • Able to work a combination of days/evenings, holidays and weekends as needed
  • Area of responsibility may include: cooking/grilling, cashier, cabana server, food prep, food runner, stocking and inventory, washing dishes, and keep areas clean and sanitized

 

Park Services

  • Self-motivated and work well independently
  • Able to work 3-5 shifts per week, minimum 2 weekend shifts

Admissions

  • Provide fast and accurate check out services for our customers using computerized cash register systems
  • Candidates must possess basic math skills
  • All candidates should speak/write fluent English. Additional languages are a plus.
  • Able to work 3-5 shifts per week, minimum 2 weekend shifts
  • Able to work a combination of days/evenings, holidays and weekends as needed
  • Cashiers work primarily outdoors and may rotate in a variety of park positions including entry, re-entry, and ticket kiosk

 

Pool Tech

  • Age 18 or older and willing to meet all of Neptune Island’s Grooming Standards daily
  • Must be professional, energetic and have a positive attitude at all times
  • Candidates must possess basic math skills
  • Able to work 3-5 shifts per week, minimum 2 weekend shifts
  • Able to work a combination of days/evenings, holidays and weekends as needed
  • Individuals should be prepared to work outside and be mobile to attend to attraction/guest needs
