Hartsville Children’s Theatre presents “A Thousand Cranes”

Sponsored by the Duke Energy Foundation and the City of Hartsville, the Hartsville Children’s Theatre with Thornwell School for the Arts students will be performing “A Thousand Cranes” to the public for free on Thursday, Novemeber 3rd at 6:30 pm. “A Thousand Cranes” is based on the story of Sadako, a young girl who dies of radiation sickness after Hiroshima. City of Hartsville Continues to Recover from Hurricane Matthew

The City of Hartsville is continuing its recovery efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Matthew. Although our community was fortunate enough to not have received overly significant damage, many homes received damage and piles of debris still lie on the roadside. The City of Hartsville appreciates residents being patient with removal efforts as it is a long process. Additionally, the City’s departments are available to residents for any questions.

Recycler of the Month – August

Congratulations to Ms. Lois Wilson, of Security Drive, the recipient of the Recycler of the Month Award for the month of August. The City of Hartsville community appreciates the effort Ms. Wilson puts forth towards recycling and keeping unnecessary waste from going to the landfill.  Ms. Wilson received a $25.00 Downtown Dollars gift certificate for her recognition.

City of Hartsville Launches Centennial Park Metal Sculpture Contest

The City of Hartsville in partnership with Black Creek Arts Council, Mezzoforte`, and North Industrial Machine is calling for submissions of designs for a metal sculpture to be placed in Centennial Park.
