Clemson University’s 4-H program sponsored by City of Hartsville Parks and Recreation engages Hartsville youth

Hartsville youth can engage with Clemson University’s 4-H program to learn leadership, citizenship, and life skills. This program, sponsored by City of Hartsville Parks and Recreation, uses a learn-by-doing approach to empower Hartsville youth to become healthy, productive, and contributing members of society. Classes will begin March 15 and will continue every Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the TB Thomas Sports Center located at 701 W. Washington St.

Recycler of the Month – February 2017

Orie and Violet Johnson are the City of Hartsville’s Recyclers of the Month for Feb. 2017. As the Recyclers of the Month, the Johnsons received a yard sign as well as a Main Street Hartsville downtown gift certificate.

New City of Hartsville Codes and Licensing Officer continues efforts for community clean-up

Recently, the City of Hartsville hired a new Codes and Licensing Officer to continue efforts that will keep Hartsville buildings safe and the community clean of trash and debris. Codes and Licensing Officer Jessica Lynch began her new role since in Dec. of 2016.

Police and Ministry continue partnership to improve community

Several City of Hartsville departments in partnership with the Ministerial Alliance are continuing efforts to improve the community through the EMPOWER initiative (Employing Ministry and Police to Overcome Walls and End Racism).  This effort is a partnership between the Ministerial Alliance, Community Outreach Division of the Hartsville Police Department, and the City of Hartsville to unite in making a positive impact in the community.

Hartsville Police Department to host Coffee with a Cop

Officers of the Hartsville Police Department will sit down for community discussions and coffee with local residents on Wednesday, February 15th from 8:30 to 11:00 a.m. at Hartsville Garden Apt. Community Room 780 Tailwind Lane, Hartsville SC 29550.

City of Hartsville Parks and Recreation is bringing kickball to your weekly schedule! Grab your friends or co-workers for an adult co-ed kickball league. Registration is now open until Feb. 25.
