
The City of Hartsville proudly announced the swearing-in of its newly elected Mayor and re-elected City Council Members during the regular City Council meeting held on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025, at Hartsville City Hall. Family, friends, and community members gathered to witness this important moment as Hartsville’s leaders took their Oaths of Office and reaffirmed their commitment to serving the residents of our city.
During the ceremony, Mayor Dan Askins III was officially sworn in, marking the beginning of his term as Hartsville’s 35th mayor. A native of Hartsville, Mayor Askins brings a strong blend of professional experience, community service, and a deep passion for the continued growth and vibrancy of the city he calls home.
In his remarks, Mayor Askins shared his enthusiasm for the road ahead:
“I am excited to continue the work those before me started and to grow our town. Our best days are ahead. Hartsville will be a destination to visit and an even better place to live.”
Also taking their Oaths of Office were the re-elected members of Hartsville City Council Kenzie DeLaine of District 1 and Bob Braddock of District 5. Re-elected Council Member, Teresa Mack of District 3 was not able to attend the meeting and will be take her Oath of Office during the regular City Council Meeting on Tuesday, January 13, 2025.
