In celebration of the City of Hartsville’s recognition as an All-America City, a downtown Block Party, an “All-America City Celebration” sponsored by West Oil, North Industrial Machine, Pepsi, and Sonic, will take place in downtown Hartsville on Carolina Ave. on Friday July 15th at 5 pm. This will be a celebration of all that makes our City so special! The evening will include recognition of the 1996 and 2016 winning delegations and a viewing of the All-America City performance by the 2016 delegation. The youth delegation of the 2016 All-America City delegation will give a live special performance as well and a series of live performances by local youth musical talent.DJ T Money and crew will lead attendees in a street dance featuring music for all generations. There will be activities for the whole family to come out and enjoy including games, face painting, and a photo booth. The Hartsville Fire and Police Departments will have their trucks and cars set up for attendants to learn more about their jobs and equipment. Organizations represented at All-America City will have information booths at the event. Bizzell’s will be introducing their new Tailgate Cater Wagon. Snow cones, nachos, hotdogs, soda, cupcakes, cotton candy, ice cream, and other sweets will be available for purchase as well. The event will end at 9 pm.
The City of Hartsville will have a limited supply of free hotdogs provided by Sonic and drinks courtesy of Pepsi. Adult beverages can be purchased with a valid ID. The City will also be selling All-America City t-shirts. T-shirts will be given away to the first 100 attending City residents with proof of residency.
Parking for the event is available at all downtown public parking lots (College Ave. and S. Fifth St.). South Fifth St. public parking can be accessed in the rear from 6th St. Street parking and other public parking lots will be open as well.
