The City of Hartsville will be hosting a face mask distribution event outside of The Medical Group, 1304 W. Bobo Newsome Highway, on Friday, August 28th from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. (or while supplies last). This will be a drive-thru event and two masks will be given per person or five per family. Traffic should enter on Medical Park Drive and follow the signs and officers directing to the event.

This is the fourth distribution event that the City has hosted with the 15,000 masks donated by Carolina Pines Regional Medical Center, The Byerly Foundation, and the Sonoco Foundation. The goal of hosting these distribution events in the community is to help get masks to citizens that are in need of face coverings to help slow the spread of COVID-19. City Council passed an ordinance on August 11th requiring face coverings while inside of restaurants, retail establishments, and City-owned facilities.

City of Hartsville Public Information Officer, Lauren Baker said, “Our local partners value the safety of citizens and recognized that accessibility to face coverings was important for our residents to protect themselves and those that may be more vulnerable. We are thankful to see so many residents and visitors masking up as requested by our local healthcare providers that are on the front line fighting COVID-19.”
