The mask ordinance passed by City Council in an April 13, 2021 Council meeting will end effective May 13, 2021 based on updated guidance provided by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC). The CDC’s most recent update advised that Americans that are fully vaccinated may be without masks in most places.

The City of Hartsville has followed guidance and made decisions based on information provided by the CDC throughout the COVID-19 pandemic. The safety of residents and visitors has remained at the forefront of every decision that has been made. While the mandate has been removed, the City still encourages those that are at-risk to continue to protect themselves accordingly for their safety and the safety of those around them.
