Kevin Gardner is Hartsville’s Hidden Hero for the month of April. Gardner has been with the City of Hartsville Sanitation Department for 21 years. He currently serves as a laborer and does various jobs as requested for the Sanitation Department. You may see Gardner on the back of a recycling or garbage truck riding through your neighborhood as he works diligently to ensure that Hartsville residents are happy. Kevin Gardner also gets to operate the Tink Claw occasionally to pick up yard debris from the streets.

Gardner is a resident of Lamar, but loves working for and visiting the City of Hartsville. In his job, he enjoys dealing with the public and learning so many different things by working with them. Gardner is described by his coworkers and managers as being reliable, simple, and humble—all qualities that have kept him as a City employee for so long!

The citizens and staff of the City of Hartsville are certainly lucky to have Kevin Gardner working for them to keep the streets of Hartsville clean and free of trash and debris!
