Karen Caulder has been named Finance Director for the City of Hartsville. Caulder accepted her position in March 2017. She will serve as the chief financial advisor to the City Manager, overseeing finances of major upcoming City projects and investments. Caulder’s job responsibilities include overseeing the preparation and execution of the City-wide budget for the upcoming fiscal year. The Finance Department will also be under Caulder’s supervision to ensure quality service in the collection of the City’s major revenue streams such as taxes, fees, and licenses.

“We are so pleased to welcome Karen’s enthusiasm, passion, and expertise to our team,” said City Manager, Natalie M. Ziegler.

Caulder has past experience in the private financial sector with her most recent position as Senior Accountant for Stanley Black and Decker. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of South Carolina and a Masters in Professional Accountancy from Clemson University. She is licensed through the department of LLR Board of Accountancy and a Certified Public Accountat. She resides in Cheraw, S.C. with her husband, Austin, and their three year-old son, Bennett.
