Historic Sites
With several dozen designated sites, the City of Hartville is rich with history.
Hartsville is fortunate to have preserved much of its rich history so that we are able to study, celebrate, revere, and reflect on it today. Our Historic Preservation Ordinance helps promote those efforts.
The Architectural Review Board and City Council have identified a historic district that includes six noncontiguous properties. Five of the six districts are listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Some historic sites include:
- Historic Marion Avenue Cemetery
- The Hartsville Museum
- The Hartsville Passenger Station
- The Hart Cottage
- Lawton Park and Pavilion
- Coker Experimental Farms
- Kimbrell's Building
- The Thomas E. Hart House
- The Hartsville Post Office
