Jeannie Wilkerson is the City of Hartsville’s Recycler of the Month for September 2015.
Wilkerson said she recycles everything that she can, and requested a full-sized recycling roll cart from the City to make sure she does not run out of space. As an enthusiastic traveler, she said that visitors to a city will pay attention to whether a community seems clean or dirty — whether its residents take trash and recycling pickup seriously – adding that she wants Hartsville to keep up its reputation as a clean city.
“I believe that, even if it’s just me, I can make a small difference,” she said.
As the Recycler of the Month, Wilkerson received a yard sign as well as a Main Street Hartsville downtown gift certificate.
The award program highlights those city residents participating in the City of Hartsville’s recycling program, a partnership between the City and Sonoco.
