Customer Service Manager

Responsible for the processes and systems related to servicing customers and support of front line personnel. Support for accounting functions as part of the Finance Department for the City. Manages multiple commitments to customers, staff, and operations. Receives and responds to inquiries from other City Departments, citizens, etc. pertaining to utility billing and accounts payable procedures, including escalations.

Req: Bachelor’s degree in accounting or closely related field preferred; Associate degree in accounting, or closely related field required, and; 3 years of experience in customer service, accounting, bookkeeping, collections, payables; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid South Carolina driver’s license.

Operates equipment used in the construction, operation, repair, maintenance, and replacement of city water, sewer, street, and storm drainage facilities and systems. Operates a variety of City equipment and vehicles.

Fire Safety Inspector

Performs general/specialized work functions associated with providing effective and efficient animal control; to enforce state and local animal control and fire code ordinances to include investigation of complaints and violations and fire inspection activities.

Req: 18 yrs old; HS diploma or GED; one year of experience in handling shelter animals or animal control enforcement; construction, customer service, code enforcement or related field; or any equivalent combination which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Valid South Carolina driver’s license. Must meet the department’s physical and medical standards, as well as the physical standards of the National Fire Protection Association.

Volunteer Firefighter – HFD

Perform firefighting/rescue duties.

Min. Req: 18 yrs old, valid SC driver’s license, high school graduate or equivalent, reside within a 20 min. response time and remain on 24 hr emergency call status. Attend 2 three-hour evening training meetings a month, must attend 75% of the meetings and 50% of all full alarm responses per year. Prior fire service exp. and knowledge of city layout preferred.

Lifeguard

  • Age 16 or older and willing to meet all of Neptune Island’s Grooming Standards daily
  • Must be professional, energetic and have a positive attitude at all times
  • Able to work a combination of days/evenings, holidays and weekends as needed
  • Ability to:
    • Swim 200 yards without stopping
    • Tread water for 2 minutes without using hands
    • Retrieve a [ten] 10 lb. brick from the bottom of a [six] 6 ft. pool
  • Successfully complete a lifeguard certification course (all offered by Neptune Island)
    – Your Lifeguard License: You will be trained through the Jeff Ellis & Associates Lifeguard Training Program, an internationally recognized industry leader in lifeguard training.

 

Food Services

  • Age 16 or older and willing to meet all of Neptune Island’s Grooming Standards daily
  • Must be professional, energetic and have a positive attitude at all times
  • Successfully complete an online food safety/sanitation course
  • Able to work 3-5 shifts per week, minimum 2 weekend shifts
