The Hartsville Police Department’s Investigation Division hosted a flag and flagpole dedication ceremony on June 26, 2020 at 10 a.m. City staff and special guests attended the ceremony which was followed by an open house and tour of the newly renovated Investigation Division located at 626 North Fifth Street, Hartsville. The Hartsville Police Department (HPD), South Carolina Department of Public Safety (SCDPS), and law enforcement partners statewide will conduct stringent enforcement of impaired driving laws as part of its Sober or Slammer! campaign beginning December 13, 2019 through January 1, 2020. The Hartsville Police Department will be participating in Operation Southern Shield beginning today, July 15th. The operation will run through July 20th and focus on the heavier summertime travel period when the fatality and injury crash rates increase significantly in the southeast.  Enforcement will consist of RADAR/LIDAR use and the use of public safety checkpoints.
