The Hartsville Police DUI grant has reached its halfway point for the 2019/2020 grant period.  Although the pandemic has slowed our proactive efforts, we want to remind all drivers that the DUI officer is still working peak DUI offense hours and will continue to seek out impaired drivers.  The DUI officer, along with all HPD officers, have continued to work very hard to keep the streets of Hartsville safe. From October 2019-March 2020, the grant officer has made over 80 traffic and criminal charges, issued 27 warnings, participated in 7 public safety checkpoints, and worked nearly 600 hours on the project.  The department has made 22 DUI arrests and 47 alcohol law related charges during this time as well.  The breakdown of charges made by the DUI officer are listed in the chart below.

HPD wants to remind everyone to follow all CDC and SCDHEC recommendations during this difficult time and act safely and responsibly.  The Hartsville community is a strong one, and together, by everyone doing their part, we will get through this.  Remember that the Hartsville Police Department remains here to serve you around the clock.  We have reduced our public interaction to protect our officers and you, but we are still here for any emergencies.  Please call our office with any questions or concerns.
